I am a Muslimah and a revert to Islam from Christianity. Masha’Allah it’s been quite a journey
Becoming a Muslim has changed my perspective on a range of things and I am hoping that this will become a way of expressing the way I am looking at life, love, the world and my faith and I welcome those who are sharing this journey with me.
I wrote the first blog entries over a period of two years on a forum blog I used to be an administrator on. Some of you may recognize the posts and know at least a little of the story behind them. For me, they are constant reminder of how often we look back and see the khair (good) in something, that when we are going through it.. we can only see the sadness, the pain, the heartache..
This blog is for me like a weaving. When I am going through the experiences of my life, good and bad, its like I am seeing the underside of a weaving.. with it’s loose threads and tangles… Yet as I look back and read, I see what Allah SWT my Lord has always seen.. the threads in their finished and most beautiful tapestry state.. the picture complete.
Or to put it in an Islamic way..
” Abu al-‘Abbas ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas reported: One day
I was behind the Prophet and he said to me:
“O young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice] : Be mindful of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. If you (have need to) ask, ask of Allah; and if you seek help, seek help from Allah. Know that even if the Nation (or the whole community) were to gather together to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you with anything except that which Allah has already recorded for you, and that if they gather together to harm you with something, they would not be able to harm you with anything except that which Allah has already recorded against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.”
